Needed a new one...
A little venting and then on to review. So I had to buy a new silverware basket due to the fact that my dishwasher from a housing purchase did not come with one. I still can't get over the fact that the previous homeowner took the stupid silverware basket. Anyways, I tried to find the basket specific to my dishwasher model from Whirlpool, but was having a problem. Apparently finding part numbers is made out to be some huge process that you have to call a "parts distributor" to get any help. So I went through all that only to find out that the specific silverware basket for my dishwasher was going to cost something like 70 bucks. 70 freaking dollars! For a plastic basket! So I head over to Amazon and type in "whirlpool silverware basket" and to my surprise this lovely page pops up.

Replacement Basket
This basket replaced the original in a Maytag dishwasher. It was reasonably priced and fit perfectly. It appears to be better built than the one it replaced, so hopefully it will last longer as well. Much cheaper through the Amazon marketplace than the appliance parts web sites or in the parts stores.
Nice product.
Had to replace my old trays (different style and model) because they were falling apart. Ordered these and they work great. They should fit almost any dishwasher. Large enough that I only needed one side. They can be snapped together to make a large holding tray.
