Very fun and cheap to use
I bought this to be a gift, and we finally got around to using it. The tools included are great. Using the recipes included of cake batter, we the amount yielded was 41 cake balls total. I probably could have gotten at least one more out (maybe two) if I had used a better technique to get the batter out of the squeezing bottle.
The batter is thick and sticky, so it stays mostly down at the bottom. It was hard to squeeze the bottle enough to get the batter out after about four of the spheres. I learned quickly that it is best to place the bottle upside down when not in use. (It has a measuring cup/cap that will hold it steady like this)
The timing directions were not clear in this recipe, but with fidgeting after the first couple rounds, I came up with what seems like the best time to cook. For our recipe, the booklet said to cook for 4-6 minutes. I squeezed the batter into the holes in an order that I could remember (also, each half sphere is 1 tbsp, which is...
Makes cute little pops!
I really like this little machine to make babycake pops. It works as described...make sure you use plenty of oil/spray to prevent sticking. The recipes in the book are good to start. Haven't had any burnt pops or any other catastrophe...I did read the manual and instructions well before I began. I would recommend it - beats making cakepops the old fashioned way.
great cake pop maker!
I bought this after reading the negative reviews on the other baby cake makers. I decided to go against my gut and purchase this without any reviews. However I am happy to announce that this thing makes cake pops neatly and quickly! Think of it like a waffle maker, when you flip it is when it works best.
I've made 96 cake balls and only 12-15 have been flops. It does take some perfecting.
All in all - I love it! Though you can get it cheaper elsewhere.
