DMT FSKF Diafold Serrated Knife Sharpener - Fine

Gets the Job Done
I ordered this for my fiance and he loves it. He has sharpened every knife in our house and at his parents. It doesn't look like much, but it definitely puts a sharp edge on any blade.

I ordered this particular one because it is sort of an all purpose, everday sharpener but even though it is only rated fine it still removes small nicks. We are going to buy the DMT ceramic extra-fine sharpener (white handle) too, so he can refine the edges even more.

This was kind of a throw away gift that turned into the best christmas gift of the year for him. I couldn't find any reviews for this product anywhere else, so I hope that this one is helpful.

Got it for my dad; he LOVES it!
My dad told me he wanted THIS EXACT SHARPENER for Christmas; so of course I got it for him. He wanted ONE sharpener for ALL his kitchen knives, smooth edged and serrated, his Swiss Army pocket knife, and anything else he could find to sharpen... maybe his chainsaw and lawn mower too, I don't know. Now when I visit him, his knives are perfectly sharpened. He likes the fine grit as opposed to the very fine or medium, and he loves how it opens and closes, and how it handles when open and in use. I wouldn't be surprised if he sleeps with it. He actually let me use it once (oooooh!) to sharpen a big, fancy Spiderco knife I have, and it's just as perfect as he says it is. Maybe I'll make him buy me one for Christmas this year.

hone
I've had this thing for many years now. When you're on the fly and don't have time to break out the stone to "sharpen" your knife, open this thing up, and perform a quick "hone" to realign the blade edge. Notice the difference. When it comes to pocket knives, I can sharpen them up pretty good with a dual composite stone. I also have a longer steel for the kitchen knives which I utilize to hone prior to each use. If the knife is of good quality, I'll take it in for professional sharpening. There is a big difference between sharpening and honing. Sharpening remakes the blade's edge. Honing takes that edges imperfections out or realigns the folded over or flat spots. Pull any knife out of your kitcnen drawer, look straight on at the edge, and you'll see light reflecting off of the imperfections, unless you hone prior to putting it away. My opinion, knives banging against each other in a drawer messes them up. That's why I hone prior to use.

NordicWare 15040 Cast Aluminum Stovetop Belgium Waffle Iron

follow the rules and you shall be rewarded
Wow! Magnificent waffles (and I've tasted my share) first time off the volley. How, you may ask, those 1-2 star reviewers? Oil the waffler lightly before the pre-heat. They're right, there is NO such thing as a completely stick-free waffler out there. And for those of you in love with teflon, good luck achieving the light crisp crunch exterior that yields to a light fluffy interior possible with this waffler. Waffle afficionados told me I had to find an old non-teflon waffler on e-bay or at a flea market. Imagine my surprise to run into this at a nearby kitchen supply store. Good thing I had not read the Amazon reviews, I might have been scared off. So make their suggested batter, lightly oil, pre-heat, pour batter and 3 minutes later--the BEST waffles out there. Merci, NordicWare.

The Only Non-electric Waffle Iron You'll Ever Need
I purchased this waffle iron four years ago.

And, I went through quite a few batches of waffle batter until I could heat the iron on the stove properly.

But, after a while I was making the tastiest waffles on the block.

Once I got the hang of using this waffler, I got rid of my electric
waffle iron!

I end with one word of advice. Please be sure to grease this waffle iron before you pour the batter on the grids.

Nordic Belgium Waffler
The new Nordic Belgium Wafflers are not the same high quality as previous models. Previous models include a temperature gauge and bake higher quality waffles. The new waffler does not hold the waffles to the outside surface until baked and the waffles end out collapsed and heavy. I used the older model at the same time with the same batter at similar temperatures and the waffles from the older model were light and crisp.

Nespresso D50-US-OR-NE Espresso Maker, Pure Orange

Absolutely the best espresso machine for this price!
Amazing quality espresso comes out of this machine. I love how everything is automated and there is no need to puncture or anything. Also, the fact that you can move the water to the sides is very good, especially if you are limited in counter space. The color orange pops out on the kitchen counter and everyone always asks what it is. Have it for a month now and no problems. In love with this thing!

This is amazing
Love this product. The price is great about $60 dollars cheaper then any other place I searched for. I had this machine at my office before i decided to buy one on my own. The coffee is amazing if you like espresso. Does not take up alot of counter space as I have a very small kitchen and the coffee is made within 30 seconds. I love it

nespresso
I like the machine. Great coffee, very cute design and takes little room. The only regret I have is that I have not ordered milk frother with the coffee machine. Could be a much better deal. Otherwise it is a great thing to look at and to start the day with)

Corelle Coordinates Burner Cover Set of 4, Simple Lines

Less mess under the unused burners!
My husband is the messiest chef when he tries to cook. He constantly splatters and gets food particles and sauces into the burners that aren't being used, leading to lovely burning smells and baked on messes next time those burners are used.

In the past I've tried telling him to stop, had him scrape off the burned mess, etc. But, he won't learn. These burner covers are the best idea I've had in a long time. They cover up the burners so no more mess underneath! They come clean easily with a little soap and water.

Plus they look great and don't have flowers or country patterns on them.

My stove looks a lot nicer
They're made of thing metal so don't expect anything too strong. I like the pattern and my electric stove looks a lot nicer with them. The one issue is we keep taking them off to cook and not putting them back =)

Great covers for price paid (under $6) - look great on white stove.
These are good covers for a reasonable price and are the same shade of white as my stove. The clean lines make the stove look cleaner than the colorful prints. These are thin, painted covers though and tend to get scratched over time and if you turn the burner on while the cover is on there the paint will turn brown almost immediately, so be careful! An alternative is plain stainless steel covers that hold up better to scratches and accidental turn-on of stove but will be pricier.

DeLonghi D24527DZ Dual Zone 3-Pound-Capacity Deep Fryer

Best Fryer for a family of 2 or more! It 's Incredible!
I bought this fryer mainly because of its capacity, we're a family of 4, and because I heard good things about it. I am so glad I did! This fryer cooks 3 pounds of food perfectly! I made a ton of homemade potato chips tonight. This fryer is easy to use and easy to clean, and, as a bonus, it's easy to drain so you can save your oil.

When I was a teenager I worked at Burger King, and cooking with this fryer made me feel like I was at the fry station again (not that I want to relive that feeling). But, really, it has an actual basket that lowers into the hot oil and it has a place to set the basket so when your food is done it drains properly.

My Chinese chicken and broccoli has never tasted so good! This fryer is a gem.

If you like to cook and want to cut down your cooking time on foods such as french fries, chicken, fish for tacos etc..., then this is definitely a purchase to make. Amazon has free shipping on this fryer which is why I bought it from...

Had no problems standing up to our Seafood Feast
My family and I celebrate Thanksgiving with a large seafood feast. Much of it is fried, and we need a LOT because everyone loves it. Traditionally, I have been the one camped outside in whatever weather happened to be around that year, frying up the large batches in my turkey fryer. While the adventure was always fun, monitoring temperature through multiple batches was difficult, and cleanup was always a nightmare. This year, we decided to try something that would keep me inside and possibly ease the cleanup effort. This fryer seems to be the answer.

First, I should say that I only give 5 stars when I can't think of a way to improve a product, so don't let the 4 stars color your impression. This fryer did everything I needed with no hassle. We were able to to fry up over 4 lbs of shrimp, 1 pint and a half of oysters, over 2 lbs of scallops, 4 soft shell crabs, and 3 large catfish fillets. I used smaller batches since this was my first time using the fryer, so it...

Decent, but a little pricey
Received this as a gift for Christmas '08. Have used it at least 8 times so far, and have had no problems with the function or electronics or anything. It does cook well, and it is nice and easy to clean once you have the oil drained (just throw most of it into the dishwasher!). However, one of the reasons that I requested this fryer was for the draining system, and I am pretty disappointed in it. I was hoping for something a little more sophisticated then just a simple valve that opens, like maybe a built-in filter and a reservoir to hold the oil.

If you want to drain the oil, you have to first find a nice container to use to store the oil in. Then you have to try and hold this container up to the valve, along with a strainer or other filter to keep the oil clean, and I found you also need a funnel to keep the oil from running all over the place. While holding all of these items under the valve, you then have to try and open the valve. Once most of the oil has...

Hamilton Beach 49611 12 Cup Coffeemaker with Digital Clock

Hamilton Beach 49611
I've only had for a few days, therefore 4* instead of 5* but so far I really like the features incl. being able to program to make coffee before I wake up, adjustments for strength of brew, and automatic shut-off so no burned coffee! Just hope it will last more than a year which the last two coffee makers didn't (both Black & Decker). It's also attractively designed! Only negative is that it needs cone type filters and I'm stocked up on standard ones.

Buy it!
We have used this maker for a couple weeks. The maker brews excellent coffee. I shake and the spout on the pot allows me to pour without spilling. For the price, you can't beat it.

Great Buy
Had a 4 cup coffee maker updated to this coffee maker and wished we would have done it sooner.
Really like the Bold coffee setting.
Also the clock is a neutral black numbers on gray.

Lasko 4820 Xtra Air Tower Fan with Fresh Air Ionizer

Loved them at first, then.......
I bought 2 of these for my business. I teach an exercise class and we NEED good fans. I liked these because they wouldn't take up a lot of our dance space and would have air blowing over most of a persons body since they are 4' tall. While I thought they were a little wobbly, they worked nicely. One of the bases did break as it often got moved around in the closet of the hall I rented, but I used them the whole first summer and they were great!

Over the winter I moved into my own center and brought these with me. Now that it's summer it's REALLY HOT in my center because I don't have A/C yet. So, I got out the fans. They worked for about 1.5 weeks. Then one of them stopped responding to any of the buttons. It works if you plug it in, but it doesn't oscillate and you can only turn it off by unplugging it. Only days later the same thing happened to the other one.

I am EXTREMELY disappointed considering how much I paid for these fans just over a year ago...

Best Fan Ever !
We've owned our Lasco 48 inch tall fan for 8 months. It is the quietest fan with the greatest amount of air flow of any fan we've owned or encountered. Not sure why others are reporting problems. We move it easily. It takes up less than 1 square foot of floor space, and collects and throws air from ground level where its coolest. The round cage type blades are ultra quiet at low speed; and even on lowest speed, it puts out huge amounts of air. The remote and the ionizer option are both a plus.

not what i expected
i expected better durability out of this fan. It died after just 3 months, and had flow problems from day one. I tried contacting Lasko but got no responses.

General Electric IM6 Ice Maker Kit

Stealthy
I purchased a SS GE Profile refrig/freezer in 2002. The refrig was super quiet, except when the IM-4 icemaker cycled. The IM-4 could be heard from the next room. After having a new floor installed, the contractors must have damaged something in the rear of the icemaker (pump). I replaced with the new IM-6. After checking my connections and looking for puddles, I had to continue to look inside the freezer to see if it was working. The IM-6 is so quiet, I could not hear the cycling. The only sound that was heard was the ice dropping into the empty bucket. Finally a quiet ice maker for my quiet refrigerator! Good job GE.

Easy to install
I purchased the GE Icemaker IM-6 to install in my frig that had never been equiped with one. It seems the icemaker is packaged with instructions and extra parts so that it fits EVERY refrigerator GE ever made. It was not hard finding the simple two page instructions for my model. But being a guy, it was real hard to throw out all those extra parts not needed - LOL.

The actual install was one of the simplest projects I've ever tackled. Was a little apprehensive when it took about 24hrs before it started producing cubes. But after that every hour on the hour... ice cubes drop.

I like this icemaker very much. Quiet operation and plenty of ice to keep up with my four adult users. Sure beats filling ice trays by hand. Thanks GE.

GE IM6
My ice machine stopped working in our GE GSS25TSWCSS side by side refrigerator. Our fridge/freezer was only 4 years old, but that about the lifetime of an ice maker. The green light was blinking on the ice maker. Everything i read online suggested that if the water inlet tube was frozen, then to replace the water valve at the back of the fridge. If there was no ice in the inlet tube then it was the ice maker and just to replace the unit. GE sell them for $148.75 plus shipping. This product included the WR30X10093 ice maker part for $81.00. Part arrived promptly. Removed 1 screw eased out the old ice maker, disconnected the plug and re-installed the new ice maker. Switched on and it immediately started making ice. Awesome. I saved about $60 on the part and no labor or call out charge.

GE Oven Temperature Meat Probe WB20T10025 NEW OEM

Does what it suppose to
Summary - If your GE oven is missing the probe and you like to bake, you need this

Background - When we bought our home, the previous owners had lost the oven probe for our GE double oven. As Christmas approached and I was once again called on to do Prime Rib, I decided to purchase this and see if I could worry less about the meat temperature and spend more time with the family Christmas day.

Quality - The probe appears to be of above average quality with a flexible coating to protect the wire from the probe to the plug.

Use - Worked perfectly and easily. I have now used it two times on large meats (stuffed chicken, prime rib) and it performed perfectly.

Recommendation - I would recommend this product and I am happy with my purchase.

It works.
The previous owners of our house mustve taken the probe with them, so our fancy GE 44XL stove's oven was unable to use the "temperature cook" function Local appliance stores wanted a fortune. This worked well and it seems to be within 1 or 2 degrees of our Polder thermometer but is MUCH more convenient.

Great Value
Great replacement part at the best price. I am really glad to have a working probe again. Brisket for dinner.

Range Kleen 1056RGE8Z GE Hinged Drip Pans and Trim Rings Containing 3 Units 105A, R6U and 1 Unit 106A,R8U, Chrome

What you get is NOT what you see
The quality of the drip pans is not in question here - new pans are always nice. In this picture you see one 8" pan and three 6" pans but the text says two of each. I ordered it anyway thinking it was a typographical error - the pictures and text do not agree on the Target website either. The drip pans arrived within a few days -very expedient! However, the package insert says one 8" pan and three 6" pans but the package actually contains two of each. What am I to do? Return it and intentionally order the wrong product in the hopes of getting the correct product? No. I salvaged one of my old drip pans instead and now have an extra 8" pan.

Matches the item in the description
I was hesitant about this since some of the previous reviews reported different items received than pictured. What I received was item 1056RGE8Z: 3 each 105 small drip pan and R6GE small trim ring and 1 each 106 large drip pan and R8G3 large trim ring . These "fit most hinged electric ranges including GE, Hotpoint, Kenmore, Moffat, Monogram (GE), ProFile (GE), RCA (GE), Rope." They were a perfect match to my old GE JBS03 range. In short, yes, what I received exactly matched what was pictured, which in turn was exactly what I needed.

Range pans and rings
Item was exactly as described and fit the models listed. Was exactly was I was looking for and couldn't find in any local stores. The appliance stores want at least twice as much to special order the replacement drip pans and rings

Yama Glass 5 Cup Tabletop Siphon (Syphon) (Alcohol Burner)

first siphon experience
I wanted to try the siphon method of brewing and thought this would be a good entry level pot. I have been very pleased with it so far. I have used it almost every day since I received it and used it for a presentation on coffee brewing methods. I must say that I was a bit disappointed when it arrived to see that the product features had not been (nor still is) accurate. The listing stated (and still does) that this unit also "Includes an bamboo stir stick and a butane burner". Of course it did not. It contained a plastic measuring spoon that also works as a stirrer as well as an alcohol burner. I had done enough research to suspect this was the case.

On the topic of burner; I had read quite a bit about the slowness of the alcohol burner but this really hasn't been too much of an issue for me. I heat my water in an electric water kettle before putting it in the siphon and it is back up to a boil in a very short time with the alcohol burner. I could see this being an issue...

Inexpensive entry-level siphon makes great coffee
Vacuum brewing is a blast!

It may take some trial and error at first, but the high quality of the resulting brew more than rewards your persistence in getting your technique just right.

The Yama TCA-3 was the second coffee siphon I purchased.

The first was a Hario Nouveau 5-cup model. While the build and glass quality of the Yama can't hold a candle to those of the Hario, that was to be expected, as the Yama is about half the price. More importantly, the Yama does make a great cup of coffee.

From a tactile standpoint, the Hario feels better in the hand and seems more solid; the Hario Nouveau's rubber seal between the top and bottom globes is of much higher quality.

Why didn't I buy another Hario, then? Hario has stopped importing them into the U.S. While they can be found occasionally on eBay or bought from vendors in Canada, the availability of parts is a potential concern.

The Yama, at its much lower pricepoint, is a...

Great Coffee!
This pot makes a very clean and bright cup of coffee. However, for the price, I would have expected better quality in the construction. While the glass and rubber gaskets seem fine, the plastic components and the base feel cheap. The spring that holds the filter in place seems like it won't last more than a few years. When this eventually gives out, I'll continue to make siphon coffee, but probably find a different company.

Maytag Aluminum Microwave Hood Vent Filter, 707929

It is what it is
This aluminum filter is also suitable for the Jenn-Air downdraft cooktop (for which I use it). These filters are dishwasher safe and last years. Nothing to get particularly excited about, but they do what they are supposed to do. Guess you can't ask for more than that.

Not sized right.
What can I say. They are smaller then the specs and they do not fit. :(. Bummed with the result.

Vent screen / Shipping
All they had to do is put it in an envelope between two pieces of stiff cardboard, it would have shipped fine. Instead they put it in a box 20X bigger than it had to be, with pillows, and they mangled it to fit around them. I straightened it enough to work OK.

Miele STB 205-3 Turbo Plus Power Nozzle Attachment

Ideal for Pet Hair
The Miele vacuum cleaner is already a substantial investment, but I recommend the turbobrush for those models that don't come with one. It's an especially useful add-on for those with pets, because the regular-head does only a fair job of picking up our golden retriever's shedded hair. I could just manage it by tipping the regular brush, but this is not nearly as effective as the Turbo. The Turbo rotates extremely fast (sorry, but the company supplies no specs on how fast), and has longer, more effective brushes to scoop up pet hair and any other kind of debris. This model (205-3) fits Miele vaccums only, but Model STB 201 Vario's adapter enables Turbo to attach to non-Miele vaccums with suction tubes that are between 30 and 38 mm. One other note: There's no storage cover; in fact, this one was not even wrapped in plastic for protection during transit. However, there was no damage.

The rugs look noticeably cleaner with the Turbo, as the brushes also tend to fluff them for...

Far superior to old "Powerbrush"
Sometimes it pays to spend more for quality. I have a Miele and had problems with the old battery operated powerbrush attachment (it was $250 and is no longer sold). Miele really stood behind the product and sent me this turbo brush as a replacement. It does a great job and is really helpful since I have a pet. It has two speed settings. You will not be disappointed.

You need this if you have carpeting
I bought my Miele vacuum first to see if I thought I needed this turbobrush. Answer: YES. If you have any carpeting, I'd highly recommend buying this brush. It's too bad it doesn't just automatically come with the vacuum. It makes vacuuming the carpet much easier & more effective.

Coleman 2000009219 Cool Zephyr Mini Fan

No good...
At first I liked this little fan. I had only used it a couple of times when it suddenly stopped working. It started feeling slightly warm to the touch and then simply stopped spinning? I wouldn't waste my money on this as the motor appears to be junk & will burn out if you use it.

02/03/11 Update: I would NEVER buy from this seller again! After my fan stopped working after only using it twice, I attempted to contact the seller. They never responded to my message. I sent the seller a second message and again, they chose to never respond! Who would want to buy from a seller that doesn't care about it's customers?!? Not ME! To me, no customer support = no customers!

This is the one to get
I sweat profusely. (It's the medication I'm on.) For the last two summers I've been searching for the perfect handheld fan. This is the one. It's the only fan I've tried that has sufficient power with only two AA batteries. The only other one I've used that was as powerful needed 4 AA and was obviously much heavier and bulkier. It was also much more expensive.

Proviso: After a week of use I found an annoying flaw. The fan blades come off too easily, sometimes flying off when you turn the fan on and potentially hitting people. I fixed it by making holes in the plastic and tying the blades on with fishing line.

More than its size would indicate
This supplies a surprisingly strong air flow for its size, and certainly can cool one's face very nicely. Not too loud, either. The blades fold back, and if wrapped with an elastic band, it travels in a pocket or purse just fine.

CARTRIDGE

Stadler Form Demineralization Cartridge
If you own a Stadler Form humidifier that uses these cartridges, they are essential to reducing the white dust that forms in your household when using an ultrasonic humidifier. They do not clear up the problem entirely. Dusting is still necessary. The only thing better is going to the expense of purchasing or making your own distilled water. Secondly, the cartridge creates a slime-like residue in the water chamber of the humidifier that's another cleaning chore. These cartridges are not inexpensive (even at Amazon pricing)probably because of the nice plastic housing. Depending on the hardness of your water, and if you use your Stadler Form humidifier constantly, you will be spending between $90-180 a year on cartridges, a not insubstantial sum.

works for William humidifier
I use this with the Stadler-Form William ultra sonic Humidifier. You are suppose to soak this in water for 24 hours before first use. If you have soft natural water, it will last up to 60 days. If you have very hard water it will last about 10 days. All of this is assuming you run a full tank each night.

This is a must if you use an ultrasonic humidifier. If you don't change the filter you will get white dust. The best way to test if you need to change the filter is to put a mirror up to the mist and see if you get white dust on the mirror.

If you own a Stadler-Form humidifier, this filter will work for you.

Not that good
Put new one in and still have white dust all over. Doesn't thread on as easy as the original one with the unit.

KRUPS 654-75 Waffle Chef 4-Slice Belgian Waffle Maker with Nonstick Plates LED Indicators and Stainless Steel Housing Silver

Makes Excellent Waffles if Used Properly
I was a little worried about purchasing this waffle maker based on a few of the previous reviews, but in my experience it makes great waffles and cleans up very easily. After reading the instructions carefully, it's clear that some of the reviewers misinterpreted the functions of the two lights on the waffle maker. Keep the following in mind and you should be able to make excellent waffles every time:

1. The machine must be preheated until the green light turns off, which tells you that it has reached the correct temperature for cooking.

2. It should then be lightly sprayed, top and bottom, with a cooking oil spray.

3. Add a bit less than 1/2 cup of waffle mix to each section of the waffle maker. Be careful not to overfill - if the batter runs over the sides, this will make it more difficult to clean. A slight run over shouldn't be a problem, though, as it will come off when the waffle is removed after cooking.

4. After filling all the...

Great Waffles!
Finally a great Belgian Waffle Maker! We had tried so many waffle makers in search of one that would make the "Diner" waffles that my kids love. "Too light", "Too Dark", "Not Crispy", "Too thick", "Too thin", were the complaints until we found this Krups Belgian Waffle Maker. The waffles come out nice and thick, but are light and crispy and only take about four minutes to cook. It does take some time to clean it after we're all done, but it's worth it! Excellent product.

Hard To Clean
This waffle iron does a great job with waffles. The problem is that it is very hard to clean. There are to many small clearances around the waffle iron for waffle mix to cake up if the waffle iron runs over. There isn't an adequate drip edge to catch the over flow.

I am going to try the Villaware with the removeable grids. I put whole blue berries into to my waffle batter, and this also requires additional clean up that would be easier if I can remove the grids and put them in a dish pan.

Air-7000 Air Odor Remover Ozone Generator Machine 7000 Mg/h Ozon Ozonizer Ozonator

Wow, not your average ozone generator
This thing works great, but understand what you are getting. This is NOT one of those ozone air cleaners that they sell in the upscale yuppie stores ... five minutes in the room with this thing running, and you can no longer breath. This is an industrial scale ozone generator, designed to kill every organic particle it can get to. I use it in my boat, to keep the mold and mildew down, but you can only run it for about four hours (it has a timer), so I turn it on when I leave, and when I come back the next weekend, I still have to let the cabin air out for a while. The only problem is, I've noticed some of the plastic and rubber items in my boat starting to degrade prematurely, so be careful how often you use it, or maybe you shouldn't leave the area sealed up and full of ozone for a week at time like I do.

Addendum: I've been using mine for over a year, and it's still going strong. A while back it wouldn't turn on one day, and I thought "that's it, it finally died, as...

Surprising amount of ozone...
Update: 8/20/12 still very pleased. Very powerful for it's size and does a great job!
I've only had it a few days, but it does seem to generate a surprising amount of ozone. Bought for a small damp room under the stairs and has worked very well. It's light weight and portable. Ran it in my bathroom and an upstairs bedroom as well. Run settings go from 30 min to 4 hours. It was fairly inexpensive compared to other similarly powered units. Don't know how it will fare over time - but my inital impression is favorable.

A good respectable tool
I used it to remove strong cigarette smell from an apartment 80%. It's easy to use. I'm glad I bought it.

Secura 3-Tier 6-Quart Stainless Steel Electric Food Cooker Rice Steamer, w/ Steam360 technology S-324

Love this Steamer
Update on February 13, 2013. This steamer is amazing and the most used appliance in our kitchen. I steam whole grains in it, reheat food, cook vegetables - it's a true winner and highly recommended.

-------------------------------------

I was waiting for more of you to review this steamer but then I was too curious to wait. We have really loved our Oster steamer but we are severly uncomfortable with the plastic components. I have been looking for over a year for another steamer that is BPA free/plastic free. The steamer arrived yesterday and we tried it out right away. I filled it with warm/hot tap water, and it steamed beautifully. The stainless steel bowls are neat. We bought this as an "intermediary" device until more healthy steamers come on the market. They could have added a few things to make this steamer perfect: water tank for 90 min. steaming; ability to add water while steaming; timer that allows steaming at future time; Keeping warm component -...

No BPA / plastic issues to worry about
The single best thing about this steamer is that there's no need to worry about plastics (even plastics marketed as BPA-free may leach chemicals that mimic estrogen). I looked high and low on Amazon and this is pretty much the only electric steamer not made out of plastic. FYI, I purchased the 9-quart version (9" diameter, 2.5" deep pans). While we're happy to have the larger one for the steaming capacity, it's a bit hard to find storage space when it's not in use.

Pros:
* No plastics (the "hard plastic heating element" mentioned in the other reviews looks and feel like ceramic to me - which is a common material for heating elements).
* The insert pans are optional, so if you have items that are taller than 2.5", you can add another layer and leave out the pan.
* Heats up pretty quickly, and steams all three layers well.
* Simple operation (mechanical dial to set the steam duration).
* Easy to clean, including the water reservoir. The various...

Looks nice, not very practical
This was a gift from my husband as I had asked for one.

It looks real nice, although the steel/platic bottom combination confuses me.

Things I like about the product:

Basket bottoms are solid, so little food like corn does not drop through like other 'vented' baskets.
You can marinade items and keep the juice in the basket.
The baskets are seperate from the steam rings, they just slot in. Makes for cleaning the baskets rather easy. This also means you can remove a basket but stack the vent rings to accommidate something larger.
The steam vents are located at the top of each ring level, so if you want to cook fish, the steam travels through the vents on the outside, not through the food keeping flavours apart.
The baskets are large, which is great for our 4 person family. You can make an entire dinner from it with decent servings for all.
It has a super large water resevoir approx 6 cups or more. So anything that requires...

Dreamgear DGWII-3116 Black Power Base Quad for Nintendo Wii

Would recommend this product
I had previously tried a different charger and had issues with it so decided to give this one a try. I am pleased with this charger. It is an induction charger (meaning there are not specific contacts on the batteries that have to line up to be charged) so you can put the batteries/remotes in any configuration on the charger to charge (batteries by themselves, in remote with or without a cover on the remote). One of the previous reviews I read claimed that this only charged by a timer (did not really sense how much charge the batter had left) but that is not correct. Yes, if you put a fully charged battery on the charger, the LED will go red indicating it is charging, but in just a couple of minutes it will go blue. Overall, I would recommend this as a very convenient charger.

Mine has a Sync button right on the cover.
I too had a bad experience with another brand of charger and re-chargeable batteries with conductors/contacts. So I just purchased and received this model. I'm seeing a lot of negative feedback concerning the necessity to install alkaline/non-rechargeable batteries in order to sync to the Wii console. But mine has a little button right on the cover placed directly over where the little red button is located under the cover. I just used a tooth pick, pushed the little button on the cover and voila! Sync achieved on all four of my Wiimotes! Oh, be sure to allow enough charging time for there to actually be enough charge life in the battery packs to power on the Wiimotes and perform the sync is all.

They work great even with the sleeve covering the unit. Would highly recommend this to anyone wanting re-chargeable batteries in their Wiimotes. One thing I did notice is that the batteries become warm if the remote unit is removed and replaced into the charging saddle too...

Glad I bought it!
The rechargeable batteries work quite well in our new all-in-one Motion plus remotes. I had a moment of anxiety when I first went to put them in because the fit is very tight, but line it up well and it will snap in. So easy to charge and use. Very unobtrusive in our main living area. I love that the battery pack will charge on its own or inside the remote--a great convenience. The only inconvenience with the rechargable battery packs (all of them) is that you need a set of regular batteries to connect your remote to the Wii console since the connect button is inside the battery compartment. But that's not a big deal. Well worth the money savings.

Air Purifier Ionizer, 12V can also be used as Air Neutralizer in Car, Home or Office

Does the job for a fraction of the price of others
I had a car ionizer previously purchased at a local Marshalls. I had been looking for another one but hadn't found it at the stores. I finally decided to try this and I'm glad I did. It is cheap but it works. Took out the stuffy smell out of the family car as well as the smoke smell out of my husband's car. I hope it lasts longer than the other reviewers have said but if it doesn't it's not so expensive that I would be mad about it.

Follow up to my previous posting
I wrote a somewhat negative review in a prior posting. I couldn't tell whether the product was working and the seller saw my posting and determined, from my posting, that the product was faulty. I didn't even ask for another product or contact the seller, yet they saw my post and sent me an apologetic email along with a new ionizer. I'm a satisfied customer. The product work as described!!!!

This is a review taken over a few months!
I have this in my mini van. I cannot smell it "working", but it does seem like the air is a bit cleaner. I like fresh air and it isn't possible with our winters to have the windows open. We travel with a lot of children, too, so it's always good to have "clean air" with cold and flu season.

This is an update! I have lately been "smelling" the ionizer "working" more than I had been. Maybe when it was colder, I didn't notice it as much. It is not over powering, but just a clean smell. We have adapters in the middle of our mini van, and that is where I have it plugged in. I am happy with it.

Cuisinart TEA-100 PerfecTemp Programmable Tea Steeper and Kettle

Doesn't Do Everything to Perfection, but a Solid and Good Machine.
I bought this after my Adagio Teas triniTea Electric 32-Ounce Tea Maker began deteriorating after about a year. I've been using the Cuisinart for about two weeks now, and I really like it compared to the Adagio maker. Below are my list of pros and cons (when comparing this to the Adagio.)

THE GOOD:

The Cuisinart tea maker is a very sturdy device (the kind Cuisinart is known for.) The carafe is very good, the spout does not dribble when it pours, and all of the parts seem to be made quite well. It is also quite easy to use; reading the directions are probably a minor necessity, but once you get the quick hang of it, it is very easy to use. () Fill your carafe and steeper. (b) Turn on and program the desired water temperature. (c) When that is reached and the machine beeps, lower the stepper (with a twist of the dial) and program the steeping time. (d) Once that time is reached and the machine...

Product only seems to have an eight month lifespan..
FINAL UPDATE 6/20/2013: The replacement I was sent by Cuisinart died after eight months, just like its predecessor. The unit was kept clean, the base dry and it handled with care. I used it once about 5-6 times a week, so it's not as though it was being used all day every day. I love the looks the unit and the ability to heat water to different temperatures, but I am now in the market for another electric kettle. A kettle that costs over $100 should last longer than eight months...

UPDATE 10/24/2012: After approximately eight months of consistent usage, the kettle shorted out. When plugged in, all the lights flashed and I was unable to select any of the options. I'd say that it was used about 1-2 times a day for about eight months. While used frequently, it wasn't abused in any way. I kept it reasonably dry on the outside and no dropping/rough handling.

This product has a three year warranty. So, I called Cuisinart and paid ten bucks for them to send me a new...

Almost Perfect
I use to drink coffee where brewing is pretty standard. I always loved teas but could not make it taste good every time because teas are far more difficult to brew properly. And I researched buying an iced tea maker but couldn't find one without problems. This tea maker makes both hot and iced teas to perfection.

At first, I thought this was a cheaper version of the other steeper that sells for around $240. But, I was glad to see that this has fewer moving parts and, therefore, less likely to break down. The water heats rapidly and it keeps the correct temperature for the entire steeping time.

Read directions carefully-they are a little confusing. And it's difficult to spoon loose tea in, get used tea out, and to clean strainer because of poor design. There is some plastic on the tea steeping mechanism which comes in contact with the hot water, but, there is no aftertaste. The metal at the bottom of pot does become permanently discolored but does not seem...

iRobot Roomba 551 Vacuum Cleaner Battery Replacement For iRobot 80501 Battery

Works like a champ
I was a bit skeptical of this battery - being a non-iRobot brand. It has performed fantastically and given new life to my 4 year old Rumba.

Second purchase
This is the second battery I have replaced in my Roomba. Perfect fit just like the last, and is working like new. Best part is about half the price of the last one I replaced. Now, if it just lasts as long, I will be happy.

Great item but expensive
The item came as described and had excellent instructions. Had the Roomba up and running within a few minutes. The price for this item, as one would expect, is a little high. But what's one to do?

Honeywell CO25AE 52 Pt. Indoor/Outdoor Portable Evaporative Air Cooler with Remote Control - Grey

Like an arctic breeze in the brutal hot desert.
To start I live in one of the hottest, driest climates in the United States. Living in Las Vegas can be so much fun and exciting, except for the three months of brutal dry heat. It is not uncommon to have $350-$400 electric bills. I keep my house at 85 degrees in the summer and still have bills that are a shock. This evaporative cooler has changed all that. It's 90 degrees at 8:00am and I am under the covers because the cooler is running and its making it a little too cool in my room. This cooler is awesome I take it with me into the room that I am in and have not had to turn on the central air yet.
I will tell you I was worried at first because when I first got it and filled it up, it was spitting out tons of water and was making so much noise. I let the cooler run all night and now it works like a dream. I think the water pad needed to get moist. It is suppose to be 103 today with a 5% humidity and I think it will be just fine.

Honeywell CO25AE Air Cooler
Sturdy product, excellent water capacity, good cooling with massive air flow.
On the down side, it's noisy for indoor use and has an odor from the honeycomb, the rollers could be improved.

A Lab/Shop Essential built to last
My R&D lab temp reaches 117 degrees in the summer; This evaporative A/C runs 24/7 and keeps it down to about 80 degrees. The best designed evaporative cooler on the market - Well built / Great capacity / Easy fill. This unit was built to last. // Update August 21; water pump failed, downgraded rating to 4 stars. Water pump failure is a common problem with all evaporative coolers. This cooler uses a small submersible and could be replaced easily with an approx 200-300 gph pump (PP29105 from amazon) and basic electronic skills. Still stand by this cooler as the best on the market...

HAC-504 Aftermarket Honeywell Humidifier Wick Filter

Once the wick fits...
The wick works just fine although it plainly had been in its box, folded in half for quite some time. I had to re-shape it, put it in a small box, and leave it overnight in the box to make it sufficiently round to fit my humidifier. I have had no problems with it since then. I was impressed considering the age of my humidifier.

better quality than the filter that came with the hcm-30 unit
These are the filters to use, much thicker and better wicking capability. Great value for a replacement filter. I really like these.

It's a filter
Bought this because it goes my humidifier. It's a decent filter and doesn't have to be changed as often as another brand i tried.

RadonAway Easy Read Manometer

Radon Meter
This item arrived in a timely manner an in pristine shape. It was a snap to install. Taking about ten minutes. It operates exactly as it should. Good product.

Great simple gauge
Easy to install, this gauge provides ready insight into the functioning of your radon mitigation system.
When I first installed my radon fan I noticed that the gauge was at zero despite the fan running. Without the gauge I would've assumed that the radon system was working but in fact the reading lead to further exploration of a problem. Due to the pitch of one of the pipes in the attic some rainwater had accumulated and prevented the air from flowing properly. After I adjusted the pipe angle and removed the water, the gauge showed a difference of .5 inches WC which indicated good airflow. About a month later I noted that the pressure reading shot up to 2 inches WC. I discovered water had seeped into the radon pit occluding the airflow due to a nearby broken downspout . So this simple gauge can give you a good indication of the effectiveness of your radon system.

Easy to Install
Bought this with my RP145 fan.

It is simple to install. Just drill a small hole in your pipe and put the included pipe through.

Hamilton Beach 68320 1-1/2-Quart Capacity Ice Cream Maker, White

If at first you don't succeed,
try following the instructions.

If I had written my review based on our first attempt with this ice cream maker, I'd have given it one star. In fact, we were trying to find the receipt when it occurred to me: maybe I should have paid more attention to the instructions.
Sho' 'nuff, it worked.
First attempt, our freezer wasn't cold enough to thoroughly freeze the freezer bowl, and, I didn't thoroughly chill the ice cream mix. Result: milkshakes.
Then, I tried reducing the temperature in the freezer, and chilling the mix properly. Result: very good soft-serve ice cream!
Another tip: while packets of mix that you just add milk to are fine for quick ice cream, invest in a good homemade ice cream recipe book! There is a world of difference between packaged mixes and making your own with real cream and natural flavorings! And, with the latter, you can pack it into a freezer container and save it for later.
The biggest plus for this machine is the...

fun and delicious
I tried this machine yesterday for the first time. I was extremely happy with the ice cream maker. It was a little louder than I would have liked, but you get used to it after awhile. The only bad thing is that it took about 60 minutes, instead of the 20 to 40 that they say it should take. I had everything chilled and frozen like they said to do, so I don't know. When I first tasted the ice cream, I couldn't believe it!! It tasted like Breyer's. It was soft, so I put it in the freezer in individual freezer bowls for an hour or two and it was hard like the store bought. I used the basic recipe and it was perfect for my family. My husband it totally into Breyer's ice cream and won't eat anything else, but he liked this ice cream just fine! The clean up was easy. As soon as I had the canister cleaned and dryed, I immediately put it in the freezer. Today I made another batch and had the same perfect result and it was just as jummy.

from experienced ice cream maker
I have used several ice cream makers and by far this is the worst. It is noisy, and takes way to long for the ice cream to churn. Yes, I properly chilled the ice cream mix, yes I properly froze the bowl(second time made sure it was really really frozen. The bowl just does not stay cold long enough to do what it needs to do, to avoid a soupier mix.. Although that still can be frozen into ice cream in the freeze, it just gets a little icy. Properly chilled and churned ice cream should take no longer than 20 minutes. and this design just doesn't do it.
It might work better if your freezer is large enough to put the ice cream maker in the freezer while its churn it is churning. Don't waist your time...or money.
Buy one that is properly insulated to maintain the cold throughout the churning process. Remember a proper machine should take no more than 20 minutes.
As for this machine, It will work, sort of, it is easy to clean, easy to use.

hope that helps

Oreck Super-Deluxe Compact Canister Vacuum Cleaner

Perfect for the right job
The vacuum does exactly what it says it does, and no more. (What do you want for 150 bucks?)

I live in a one bedroom apartment with hard wood floors. The Oreck Super-Deluxe Compact comes with all the attachments you'd need to clean it. It's small, so the capacity wouldn't be great enough for anything larger, although it would be perfect for a lightweight spot-cleaning vacuum when you didn't want to have to drag out the big guns (sort of like a Dust Buster, except they suck in the bad way).

The attachments are designed for hard surfaces, so if you have a lot of thick rugs you may want to look for something else. The attachments are perfect for walls, upholstery, and hard-to-dust areas (books, blinds, keyboards, baseboards).

The vacuum has a hypoallergenic filter which would be great if the exhaust (the blower) didn't blow straight out the side, blowing dust, papers and other light objects off shelves and countertops; the unit has a strap you use to...

I like it.
Are we all talking about the same machine? I don't know why all these other people dislike this so much.

I love this little vac. Okay -- let's look at some of the negatives other people have mentioned:

1. Too many parts. Pshaw! Most little vacs come with one suction opening, a little mouth on the front like a fish. Oreck designed this one better by attaching a hose to the front like the grown-up canisters. And, to make things even nicer, they gave us several different cleaning tools. So there's no place to store them on the vac. So what?! It's a small machine. It would be cumbersome to have those attachments hanging off the canister body while one works. Here's how you handle the parts: get a little mesh (see-through) drawstring bag like they sell for laundry and put them in there. Then put a little hook on the wall wherever you keep your upright vac and your vac bags. Problem solved.

2. Strap doesn't fit: Pshaw again. I've never had...

best handheld vac
This is hands-down the BEST handheld vacuum I have EVER tried. And people, I've tried plenty! This thing works like a regular cannister vac, save two exceptions: you carry it, and it does not have a power attachment (Oreck does make one that DOES have a power attachment, so if that's what you want, buy the different vac). No, it doesn't have an "on board tool holder". (Again, Oreck makes one that DOES have a tool holder, but this one doesn't have that feature). Handhelds don't normally come with tools in the first place. The most important thing about this vac is the power. Buddy, does it have some power! I live in dog-hair hell. I have a siberian husky that molts regularly in my home--and I put this vac through the ringer on a regular basis. This little vac sucks up every milimeter of dog hair (and there's TONS of it in my house). It sucks the hair off the hardwoods easily, and even sucks the hair off the area rugs and furniture with nary any fur left behind. I use it to...

West Bend 72212 Electric Extra-Deep Square 12-Inch Nonstick Skillet

Not your mother's electric skillet
I have owned this for about two weeks and have used it almost everyday. Not only can you use it as you would any other skillet -- I have used it to make baked potatoes; "baked" frozen entrees, and have found recipes for cakes, coffee cakes and even pizza. Can't wait to try all these new ideas. The kitchen doesn't get heated up in the summer, thus keeping the air conditioning from working hard. Some things take a little experimenting, but it all seems to work out in the end. Frozen products need to be watched the first time to make sure they are totally cooked. My only suggestion to West Bend would be to offer a grid to fit in the skillet. Great product -- great price!!

Wouldn't Heat Hot Enough - Going Back
I bought this skillet because of the size (not too big for just two of us), the high walls, and the glass cover. The two positive reviews influenced my decision, though I did notice that the larger version of this same skillet had more negative reviews.

I'm calling Amazon today and returning the skillet. The primary purpose was for frying, however, the temperature doesn't get hot enough of stay hot enough to fry. The temperature dial goes up to 400. I wanted to make donuts, which call for a temperature of 375 degrees. When the light when off I put the donuts in, fried them golden brown, drained them, and taste tested them. They tasted like oil. From the instructions on the donut mix I found out that tasting like oil meant the oil wasn't hot enough, and therefore the crust on the donut wasn't formed quickly, and the donut gets oil soggy. I got out my handy candy thermometer and took the temperature of the oil. It was not hot enough, so I turned the dial to 400,...

Disappointing
I have an old electric skillet that belonged to my mom, but it's stuck deep in storage and I needed a skillet in a pinch. It was easier to buy one than to go foraging through dozens of dusty boxes.

I wish I'd spent the time to go foraging. This is NOTHING like the 40-year-old electric skillet my mom used while we were growing up.

Con: The skillet has the poorest heat distribution I have EVER seen. Any food sitting directly on the heating element will cook much faster than food elsewhere in the skillet. Hence, it will stick and burn. (That was NEVER the case with my mom's old steel skillet.) I tried scrambling eggs in this skillet and before the eggs away from the heating coil could even begin cooking, the ones on the heating coil were turning brown. Same thing went for pancakes and potato cakes. I even tried hamburger helper in this skillet only to have to babysit it to constantly stir it to keep it from sticking.

Con: The simmer setting is a...

The Sharper Image EV-HD10 Cool Mist Ultrasonic 1-Gallon Humidifier with Clean Mist Technology

Works like a DREAM and is easy to clean...
I purchased this ultrasonic humidifier a year ago for my two boys, who seem to always be congested either with colds or seasonal allergies or due to the dry air from our A/C. Prior to having this one, we went through a couple humidifiers (either warm or cool mist) a season because they either broke down, didn't do a good enough job, leaked, or were too difficult to clean. This humidifier works like a DREAM and is so very VERY easy to clean. I love that I can turn the dial to output the desired amount of mist. It's super quiet, too. I know others have said they've had problems with theirs being too noisy or becoming noisy after awhile, but I have not experienced that problem. I've also read that some complain about the demineralization cartridge not working for as long as stated or costing too much. I can agree and sympathize there, but folks...you don't have to buy that cartridge. Just use distilled water. It does the same job, and you can pick up the gallong jugs from your grocery...

Once you go ultrasonic, you never go back
With winter upon us, my wife and I initially bought a standard humidifier that boils the water into a warm vapor. It worked well at getting the air "moist" and raising the temperature of the room a bit - but having to refill AND clean the thing on almost a daily basis was way too annoying. It also made a small, but decent amount of noise when the water was bubbling. In the end, the tank got a small crack which threw off the pressure, so it leaked everywhere.

Fast forward to our new Sharper Image humidifier. Filled up the tank, plugged it in, and instantaneous mist! I probably played with the thing for 5min - just amazed at the ultrasonic technology. There literally is just a tiny plate that vibrates with such a high frequency that it creates this misty, fog like stream of vapor. The different level settings work out well to - it's not a simply high, med, low - it's a turn dial so it's easy to get it at the exact output you're looking for. We've found that a mid-high...

Loud fan noise is distracting
I bought this at Bed, Bath and Beyond in October for use after sinus surgery. Initially, is was silent, but after about 12 nights of use, started making a whirring fan noise which is disturbing when you are trying to sleep. Turned it on one night and the noise was so loud (like an electric lawn mower sound), I returned it to the store and they gave me another one. Last night, I turned the new one on and it was silent for about 1 hour, then the new one started making the whirring noise. This is not acceptable so I will give The Sharper Image one more chance as I really do like the mist it throws off. I am returning the 2nd one this weekend and will get a 3rd. Hope this one works as stated in the advertising. My daughter has the same model and has had no problems with it for the 4 or so months she's had it.

MaxiMatic ERO-2008S Elite Cuisine 6-Slice Toaster Oven with Rotisserie and Grill/Griddle Top

another great little oven!
I have been a countertop oven user for 20 yrs-even when my three children were @ home. Takes up less space and uses less energy. With the invention of the microwave, who needs a big stove. I use a countertop 2 burner hotplate also.

When my Maximatic ERO2006S (which I stumbled upon @ a discount warehouse) retired after many years (6-8) of faithful service, after much searching for the perfect replacement and finding many worthy contenders, I stuck w/Maximatic and went for the upgrade (Elite Professional ExLarge-23L-ERO2008S) which is a better value, I think, than the ERO2006S and definately worth the extra money.

This little oven is a big bang for the buck. I just love it. Rotisserie, broil, roast, bake, steams? griddle and oh yeah-makes great toast too. Roomy enough to roast 6-8 lb (at least) chicken or turkey breast. W/separately purchased pizza stone-a pizza oven. W/separately purchased steamer-a veggie steamer as well.

Listing @ just $10.00 more...

Simply ideal!
The Elite Professional Jumbo was a Birthday present to myself ;) I'd looked for quite a while at whatever features might be available in a toaster oven and this one has it all and more. My intenions were to cut out on the use of the 220 oven - going more green - but also, I'm disabled and thought a toaster oven would be less bulky to use. I am a former Chef and cook from scratch quite a bit. I simply love this oven!! The top portion is a griddle/saute portion with a nice-sized cover for bulk - quite a unique addition. The rotisserie is a wonderful bonus and it's one experiment after another. It has multiple settings for bake, broil, toast, keep warm, etc. The fact that you can adjust the timer to "stay on" is a great feature that was a complaint (the heat goes off when the oven goes off on a plain timer) in a lot of other reviews --- you're allowed to slow roast and not have to turn the timer back on every hour. The size is "Jumbo" yet takes up little counter space. Mine actually fit...

Cooks great!
This toaster oven replaced a piece of crap I'd had enough of ruining my food. So far I'm extremely satisfied with this toaster oven. I have already baked brownies, toasted bread, and roasted a pork loin using the rotisserie. I have had it only 5 days but am extremely satisfied so far. I bought this hoping to cook more without having to heat up the whole oven for a simple small item. The only concern is the amount of overhead clearance when using the rotisserie. You will have to tie up a chicken well to be sure not to push against the top.

Vornado VH2 Whole Room Vortex Heater

Best heater i've owned so far
I own 3 vornado heaters, including this one, and they have been the best i've owned by a wide margin. here's why:

* they fan enough air to mix the room air and maintain a more uniform temperature (their advertising is true in that respect)
* no 'hot toaster zone' in front of the heater, with the rest of the room cold
* it is quiet
* the thermostat works! the heater puts out less heat after the room has warmed up
* this heater may appear to take longer to warm up a room for one reason: it is heating up the whole room, not just a small zone immediately surrounding the unit.
* It does use nearly 1500 watts, which is the maximum a heater can consume to be UL approved on a conventional 15Amp household outlet/circuit. The only way it puts out less heat is if you account for a more active fan. The reason the heat feels less when you put your hand in front of the unit is due to the larger amound of air being fanned. The total heat output (heat per cubic...

It Works, But Be Patient
It's very important not to get confused (as I suspect some reviewers have been) between two very similar Vortex models, the VH2 and the DVH. The DVH does indeed break almost instantly and should be avoided. This model, the VH2, on the other hand, is perfectly adequate for the price. No small electric heater in this price range is going to do a great job of quickly heating a large drafty room on an extremely cold day, but the VH2 does a find job. You will have to be patient however: it will take several hours to notice much of an effect in large dining room or kitchen. But if you wait, you will find that the VH2 gets the job done (and is quiet as well).

I love my Vornado!
I live in an old drafty icebox of a house built in the 1930's. Even when I run my gas heater, it doesn't do much good. I needed a space heater, and bad! I was wary of buying a space heater as I figured it couldn't help, but I'm glad I got this one! I read the instructions, followed their recommendations

for a large room and in about 15 minutes it took the chill off and made it so much more comfortable! It even reached into the surrounding hallway and dining room. I'm quite pleased. As a pet owner, I also appreciate the smaller vents that keep curious kitty cat's out of the heater. My cats all congregate by it and there's no way for them to get inside of it.

Great Northern Popcorn Red Roosevelt Antique Style Popcorn Popper Machine with 8-Ounce Kettle

What a great popcorn machine!
I ordered the Red Bar Style "Roosevelt" 8 ounce popcorn machine for our soccer league concession stand this past August. I had done a lot of searching to try & find something that would fit in to our budget but was still of a commercial grade. What a GREAT find this was! The machine is great, pops the corn quickly, cleans up very easily & the drawer in the bottom for the unpopped kernels is wonderful! I also ordered the popcorn portion packs from Discount Tommys (several times now) as I didn't want to mess with measuring oil, popcorn etc. I was a little skeptical at how it would taste but I can honestly tell you popcorn became our biggest seller this fall at our concession stand. Customer Service is great! They shipped everything quickly & the packing was superb! I wold definitely recommend this popcorn machine for home use & concessions/church events etc!

Good for my HT so far but it could be better
I have owned this popcorn machine for a few months now and it has performed good. But if you are like me, you always get a little "smarter" after the purchase. For the price this machine is probably good as it gets, add a little more money and you have better made machines to choose from. It works for me right now but I would not expect it to last very long if it was used heavily in a commercial type setting. After I purchased it, I found a popcorn machine dealer here and looked at some other machines including a Paragon machine that was only a little bit more money than this one. The fit and finish and materials on the Paragon was much better and appeared built to handle heavy usage. This one is 860 watts which is good and only requires about 5 or 6 minutes to heat up. One issue I noticed is the 8oz kettle on this machine is not very deep. I saw another 8oz machine with a kettle nearly 1 inch deeper. I think the shallow kettle helps too many kernels to go flying about unpopped...

Great Product and highly recommended
I bought this popcorn popper about 3 months ago and we have enjoyed it very much. It is very well made and the price from Discount Tommy was great. We have ordered popcorn from Discount Tommy along with other items and we have always had great response. I would recommend this item for anyone who wants a great popcorn popper for a good price. It makes the best popcorn and everyone in our family loves it. It really made a great addition to our movie watching. It has all the features that you need and it also is very easy to clean and take care of.

30930 Hunter Replacement Filter

Only option available for this type air cleaner
I wish they had a pack of three to sell because the freight is the killer on this purchase. If you were to average it out over three, it would be a much better deal. The filter works as described but the inability to package these together makes the filter to expensive. I am considering a different air cleaner because of the replacement costs!

Perfect Fit and a decent price
Was looking for a replacement for my Hunter HEPA filtration. I bought an off brand one that did not work very well. Found this on Amazon and it was a good fit and works great.

Recommended.

Good fit
Hard to get excited about a filter, but this is exactly like the original. Would recommend and I will be using these again

Crane Air Filter for Air Purifier

***DOES NOT FIT FROG***
Didn't want to bash the actual filter because I do have the frog filter (i believe it's an older style of Crane filter) and it works great to keep the air fresh and clean for my parrots' room. However, it does not make it clear which exact animals the filter fits. I believe it says that it fits all Crane air purifiers. IT DOES NOT.

Love our Filter
Great product love the white noise for sleeping! Filter last a long time and is very easy to change. I usually change ours once a year for best results.

Excellent
Great filter I wouldn't try any other.I have to 'Penguin" cleaners and they stay running all the time.Filters last 3 months easily.

Chef'sChoice 1520 AngleSelect Diamond Hone Electric Knife Sharpener

Just the Best
I have been sharpening knives for more than 60 years. I require my knives to be sharp enough to shave my arm. This sharpener has done that with every knife I own.

I own a Gerber Chef's knife. It is no longer made. The Gerber food knives had the hardest steel and were a devil to sharpen. Because it was so hard, I could not get this knife sharp so it just sat in the knife safe. In less than five minutes, this sharpener made my old Gerber sharp enough to shave my arm. It is now my only Chef's knife.

The final sharpening stones work like a fine sharpening steel. It makes the edge straight and perfect. A few passes on this final stage keeps the knives sharp. After getting the knife sharp the first time, you should use this stage many times before you need to use the more aggresive first stage.

You must be careful. Knives sharpened with this sharpener will cut you -- I did it twice, and I know how to use a knife. My wife did it once. You must...

Fantastic sharpener
I am somewhat of a craftsman and have been addressing knife sharpening with stones (manually) for many years. This was an arduous task as honing is an art that requires time, patience, and most importantly, precision to maintain a 20 degree angle. To be frank, I elected to give up knife sharpening by hand. I did my homework and read many product reviews before purchasing the Chef's Choice model 1520. It was expensive but, no more so than buying multiple stones of varying grit plus my time.

Upon sharpener arrival, I immediately went to work on our knife sets. Was I impressed with this tool - yes!! It was fast. The sharpener took only 20 minutes to do my entire drawer. It was precise as it held both the 20 degree (German knives) and 15 degree (Soduku knives) angles by virtue of the tool's design. The finishing hone provided the edge which the diamond faced stone had prepared. I warned my wife that the paring knife was sharper than new but, she cut herself...

Great for Asian type Blades
If you have knives that require the 15 degree angle, this sharpener is for you. It gets blades extremely sharp. It is very easy to get the hang of sharpening and blades are razor sharp in seconds. If you don't use Asian type knives, get the 120 or 130 which offer more sharpening options for Western type blades as they have three slots as opposed to 2 on the angle select.
