Does not fit
Does not fit. Description says that it will fit ironing board length of 40-42.375"L x 11.5-12" W, and ours is 41.25"L x 11.5". After 10 minutes of tugging with two people, we gave up. Looks like nice quality, but we had to return it.
MEASURE YOUR BOARD BEFORE ORDERING!!!
As others have stated... the advertized dimensions of boards this cover will fit are incorrect. I choose to ignore the "Does Not Fit" warnings figuring the people having trouble getting it to fit either did not have the upper body strength to stretch the cover into position or misjudged the length of their board. Before ordering, I measured my board (both length and width) as well as comparing the overall shape of the board shown in the Amazon listing to the shape of my board. My board has the same exact shape and taper of the board shown in the listing. FYI: I personally installed my in-wall ironing board about 20 years ago. It was purchased from a home improvement store but I'm afraid I don't know the specific manufacturer.
Details: The packaging clearly states this cover will fit boards up to 42 3/8" long and 12" wide. My ironing board dimensions were 42" long by 11 1/2" wide and still this cover was too short! My wife and I even tried "soaking" the cover in water hoping...
Made for rounded board, not squared off built in board.
I have an Ironaway built in board, not a built in Stowaway board. This cover should fit based on measurements. But my board has a squared off end, while the cover is made for a rounded end. So this cover WILL NOT FIT an Ironaway board. (See picture of the pad on the board) The measurements are accurate, but the shape of the pad does not fit a squared off board. I have had to cut the elastic on this cover making it flat, not gathered, and used it as a pad under my old cover.
